JAMES GARY, JOHNATHAN VILMA AND OTHERS WHO REFUSE TO STOP THEIR HOMOPHOBIA TOWARD GAY PEOPLE

Anyone who reads this column knows I wholeheartedly support gay rights. There were two major stories this week, one of which got lots of press and another that got swept under the rug. One is a story of courage I wish more Americans had. The other is a story of a man who's business should be run out of town.

Let's start with the positive story. Michael Sam, a college football player from the University of Missouri, came out this week as gay. He is expected to be a mid-level pick for the next draft which would make him the first openly gay man in the NFL. Not surprisingly, the result has been mostly positive. Unlike what the rabid right thinks, a vast majority of people living in the 21st century do not care about someone's sexual orientation. If someone is gay so be it. As sexuality is NOT a choice, doesn't that mean God is making a lot of defective equipment then? Just saying.

But of course there are always some who have to be douchebags and in what can only be described as true irony, a lot of them are black conveniently forgetting that not too long ago, people treated them the way they treat gays. If you are black and still want to see what racism still looks like, go to the Irish countryside and see how you get treated. You won't like it. Some of these people will say the word "nigger" right to your face. That's what you are doing to gays.


The worst was Jonathan Vilma of the Saints who questioned showering with him. Does he think himself so irresistible that no man could resist getting sexually attracted to him? He wisely retracted what he said but still represents what a minority of players may be thinking but not saying. Vilma is supposedly going to be released by the Saints due to injury, and may have problems getting a new team to take him. His comments are not helping his career.

Michael Sam on the other hand has done something both very brave and very smart. He has elevated his standing in the draft due to his sexuality which some teams will see as a positive, and even monetary, gain. Attendance, good will and merchandising may increase exponentially for anyone who gets him. Sam will also become a lightning rod for advertisers looking for a gay role model to be their spokesperson, which will probably not be Chick-Fil-A or Papa John's.

On the flip side of this is Gary James, owner of Gary's Chicaros Club in OK, who got more press than he can handle over his dismissal of a guy in a wheelchair from his business. Turns out, ole Gary here is also a bigoted homophobe who sells t-shirts with "no nigger zone" on them as well as denying access to his business anyone who is gay, black, crippled, or even on welfare, as if he'd know. James has defended his practice as businesses can deny service to anyone, not realizing that discrimination is actually illegal against all of the above, except gay who get NO protection in draconian states like Oklahoma. What a dick.

James proudly displays a confederate flag which really should have one with a swastika right next to it. How long will it take morons to realize that flag is offensive to many, many people, regardless of race? You lost a war a hundred and fifty years ago. Get over it.

Here is the really funny part. People pissed at this old white bastard have taken over his Yelp and Facebook page and, instead of writing reviews about how bad the place is or the food, they have instead called it the "greatest gay bar in OK." That's funny. Pictures of James have been photo-shopped next to male dancers as well as a fake Facebook page which promotes it as a gay bar. It would be great if hordes of gay men and women descended on the bar like a plague and refuse to leave.


Idiots like John Stossel, possibly the worst human on all of Fox News as if that's possible, has defended James saying he has the right in a "free market" to deny access to whoever he wants, not realizing that there are discrimination laws that specifically say you can't. He could be shut down because of it. Denny's learned that the hard way after three black secret service agents were denied service, sued and won $54 million in the settlement. Lawsuits against this idiot are not far behind for refusing to serve a guy in a wheelchair. Enjoy bankruptcy moron.

STAND YOUR GROUND, QUESTIONABLE SHOOTINGS AND WHY FLORIDA RESIDENTS SHOULD BE DAMN CAREFUL GIVING LIP TO ANYONE.

As regular readers know, I do not favor a lot of gun laws. However, I also think background checks are paramount for public safety and also think raising the age to buy a gun to 21 not so horrible a notion. I would also like to start charging parents who recklessly leave guns around for the children to get access to. Recently in Boston, a 14 year old shot and killed his 9 year old brother while recklessly playing with a gun that I am still unsure where it came from. If it was the parents gun, which at this point does not seem to be the case, then they should be charged. If not, I would really like to know where a 14 year old gets a gun.

But in Florida, thanks to misuse of the Stand Your Ground laws and a strange, almost perverse, desire to kill people for no reason, are two examples of why acting like an idiot can get you killed. In two very similar Trayvon Martin scenarios, two people are under arrest for killing people they never should of.  However, just like Martin, in each case the person who got shot, almost deserved it. Martin was a thug with a chip on his shoulder and an apparent racist with hatred for white people. Had the tables been turned and say Martin was a black athlete with an A average and Zimmerman was a member of the Klu Klux Klan, he'd be serving hard time. But when you act like an ass, there's every chance you are going to get shot, especially in Florida.

Let's start with the most recent case which was that of a retired police officer in a movie theater, when the douchebag in front of him decided to keep texting even though he was asked politely to stop. He response was this: "I am trying to text my f**king daughter, if you don't mind."  This is NOT the right answer as in a polite society, if you are doing something that is pissing someone else off, stop doing it. Turns out there is a video of the whole thing. In it is something that no one has reported yet. Not only does the guy who got shot throw popcorn at Curtis Reeves, but it appears he threw his phone as well. Witnesses also say the victim, 43 year old Chad Oulsen, was swearing up a storm before hand and escalated the situation far beyond what should never have happened. Popcorn is one thing, but if someone throws a phone at you, and the other guy has a gun, you may get shot as that could be seen as a weapon. Bail was denied and Stand your Ground will be applied here and may even work. Oulsen was a dick who got shot because he started attacking a 71 year old man. I am not sure he deserved to get killed for this but the lesson learned, is this: NEVER AGRESSIVELY THREATEN ANYONE YOU DON'T KNOW. You may get shot.

The other case currently on trial is also using Stand Your Ground but with a far less likely chance of working. Michael Dunn, 47, is accused of fatally shooting an unarmed black teen, Jordan Davis, 17, after an altercation at a Florida gas station. Once again though, none of this should have happened if Davis hadn't acted like a jerk and Dunn wasn't a trigger happy moron. While getting gas, Davis drove up, rap music blaring which I will admit, I hate. Not rap music per say, just deafening music played at earsplitting levels. Turn it down. When Dunn asked Jones to turn it down, one guy in the car did, to which Davis turned it back up. Big mistake when Dunn, claiming he saw a shotgun being raised inside the car, unloaded his weapon into Davis and the car which miraculously hit no one else.

During the trial, Dunn was reported as saying "I hate that thug music," to which many equate with saying "I hate niggers." That is NOT true. Thug does not equal racist when, in fact, many of these rappers are ex-cons which still live in a world of violence and misogyny, which they then turn into awful music. I write about thug culture here which is not seen in every case someone happens to be black. Drake is not a thug. Richard Sherman is not a thug. However, there are countless rappers and athletes that are thugs and glorify it. However, in this case, I do think Dunn meant it as racist.


This letter to his daughter from prison isn't helping his case. In it he says, "“The jail is full of blacks and they all act like thugs,” Dunn wrote to his daughter. “This may sound a bit radical, but if more people would arm themselves and kill these f*cking idiots when they’re threatening you, eventually they may take the hint and change their behavior.” Wow, tell us how you really feel. This is not going to help at all.

Unlike Zimmerman, there is no evidence of a gun or of a physical attack so Dunn is probably going to get the book thrown at him and with good reason. However, none of this would have happened in the first place if Davis hadn't decided to act like a dick and was respectful of his elders, something that is non-existent anymore. All he had to do was turn down the music. All Oulsen had to do was go to the lobby to finish texting. But they decided to act like spoiled brats and both got the ultimate spanking. The point of all of this is simple: Do not act like a dick when someone asks you do something reasonable. Just do it. The other choice is to risk a bullet in the face. Your choice.

DOUCEHBAG OF THE WEEK: TIM ARMSTRONG

Proving my point that only the worst people rise to the top anymore, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong stepped in it this week when he blamed Obamacare for employees losing their matching funds for their already paltry 401k's. Then he blamed two sick kids. He was forced to back down after his workers were seen fashioning a guillotine, sick of nonsensical bullshit that everyone saw through. Let's see those runner ups.

1)The Super Bowl- Wow did that game suck. The Broncos got trampled so bad Amnesty International called it a crime against humanity. The commercials were awful, bland and forgettable, except for the Radio Shack and Budweiser ones. Half naked men proved fine with the public as well as shameless use of our troops as sympathy pawns. Coca Cola got slammed by the racist right who were shocked, SHOCKED, that they would dare to sing America the Beautiful in a language other than English. I didn't like the commercial either, but not due to anything more than the fact that it was sickly sweet, schmaltzy, and kind of boring, much like every other ad companies spent a fortune on for little gain. Even the security proved stupid as, for some unknown reason, the Port Authority failed to anticipate 80,000 people leaving at the same time when the game was over and didn't have enough transportation as no one was allowed to bring their cars in. Genius. This was a terrible game all around.

2)The Olympics- Russia has proven to be an awful host with horrific living conditions for everyone in town, from the locals complaining about sewage and being displaced from their homes to guests staying in unfinished hotels with yellow water when it actually works. One bobsled athlete had to bust out of his bathroom after getting locked in, something that actually happened to me once, but I was lucky someone else was in the room and managed to get help so I wasn't stuck in their all day. And god forbid you go on line because it takes seconds to get hacked over there. Corruption has been rampant with as much as 50% of all funds siphoned into someone's pocket. The opening ceremonies were good, with only one minor glitch but also showed a serious problem with Russian society and why Communism doesn't work. When highlighting the best of Russia, 99% of all their accomplishments occurred in the 19th century, meaning they were better off under a Czar than Communism. As Marxism denies individuality, it also suppresses creativity. Only Nabakov, which was banned in Russia for decades, was the only great from the last 120 years. That says everything about why their are no real Marxist societies left on Earth.


3)Anti pot nonsense- As pot legalization reaches critical mass, the die hards are still attempting to Reefer Madness the effort by introducing less than stellar "science" about the evils of weed. First off, according to the British press, the UK recorded the first pot death ever recorded. How much did she smoke you ask to die from it? Half a joint. Riiiiggghhttt. I don't believe this story as there is NO scientific evidence that pot can kill anyone as half a joint is the equivalent of me dying after having  a few sips of beer. This story is BULL. And then came another tidbit that a huge number of people in accidents are testing positive for weed after. The only problem with this is that pot stays in your system for around 30 days so no evidence exists that any of these drivers were actually high at the time. It just shows more people may be smoking it now that the stigma of it being an evil drug that will kill you fades into history. Contrary to this report is a Dutch study done over twenty years that shows people who drive while high are LESS likely to cause an accident than sober people as high drivers are much more cautious and drive slower than someone drunk or even sober. Stop lying to people because that is why heroin is becoming so popular. Some figure if you lie about one, you're lying about the other. Sensible drug laws could have a big impact on slowing addiction and none of this is helping.

4)Baton Rouge- Baton Rouge is tired of paying for poor people, or black people in general really, so they are fighting to have their districts redrawn to eliminate the parts of Baton Rouge that have poor people and instead, let their kids have a better education without any darkies around I guess. Have we become so racist a people that we can't even see it anymore? Now mind you, black people have done themselves no favors by embracing a thug culture now out of control and spreading into ALL of society now. White people on the other hand have gone full tilt Mississippi Burning as a result and want to bring back segregation. If this is allowed to happen, black society will begin falling even further behind which isn't right.


5)Muslims- As I have said countless times before, if you push people too hard, they will kill you. Anybody who has ever read Sun Tzu knows that one of the key principles to losing any war is to have the civilian population turn against you. It is the kiss of death. And because Muslims have for decades now targeted innocent civilians, the public in many countries like Burma, Sri Lanka and now the Central African Republic, are targeting any Muslim they find. In Burma, Buddhist monks are joining in to fight against Muslims of any age. When you piss off Buddhist monks, you have officially crossed the Rubicon. In the CAR, Muslim families are fleeing to Chad as pissed off locals are executing Muslims on site after their attempt to overthrow the government failed. People have had it with this kind of crap and if they keep this up, genocide will be in their future. Targeting innocent people is a sure fire way to make everyone hate you. End this practice today or face the wrath of billions.

6)X-Factor- Simon Cowell's show was cancelled this week after three years of absolute horror. This show was terrible to start with and then got worse when they inexplicably hired Khloe Kardashian as host in year 2. Nevermind the fact that she is kind of a moose, she was so wooden and stiff, Al Gore would have been a better choice. The ratings last year, after another shake up of the judges, was so bad, the Weather Channel was getting higher ones. If we can just get rid of the Voice, American Idol and the rest of these kind of shows maybe we can watch something worth while.

7)Chris Christie- In a lame attempt to throw blame toward his former friend and crony, David Wildstein, Christie launched into a bizarre rant, going off about how he barley knew the guy in high school and that he was untrustworthy. Then why pray tell did you hire him for the job at the Port Authority? This whole scandal stinks and I wish we could just find out is the so called evidence Wildstein claimed to have is real of not. Until then, I don't care.

8)Duke Energy and Republicans- Proving my point that voting for Republicans at this point is akin to playing Russian Roulette, another company, this time Duke Energy, caused a coal ash spill in NC and then waited 24 to tell anyone it had happened. NC regulators, almost certainly Tea Party morons, helped kill three lawsuits against the company by environmentalists who were fearful that this exact scenario would happen. Turns out the current Governor, Pat McCrory, worked at Duke Energy for decades and has filled top posts with former employees. So every person who voted to put this man in office, also voted to have their drinking water and environment poisoned by a company under zero regulations. Keep up the good work guys. What next, uranium in your beer? How about sulfur in your basement? The GOP this week also killed the unemployment bill, even though it had everything the right wanted such as it being paid for. The Republicans wants us dead and some of you are cheering it on. Go to hell.

9)Mia Farrow- Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and accusing Woody Allen of molesting his step daughter Dylan. Only problem is there not one shred of proof, other than Dylan's word, and that is not good enough here. Anyone who remembers the McMartin case knows that false memories can be implanted in a child to such an extent that even decades later, they will demand it as fact, even though it isn't. Mia Farrow seems unbalanced and the fact that these allegations came just as Woody was leaving Mia for Soon Yi Previn, Mia's adopted daughter, makes these accusations suspect at best. Allen passed a lie detector. Mia refused to take one. One nanny swore under oath, Allen had no time to take Dylan anywhere that day. No charges were ever filed as no evidence existed and several experts said Dylan seemed coached. Her story changed, something that shouldn't happen unless trickery is involved and seen a lot in the McMartin case. Could Allen have done this? Sure. But without better evidence there is no sense throwing someone under the bus for such limited info.


10)Tim Armstrong- Yet another douchebag CEO using Obamacare as a scapegoat to kill benefits blew up in his face as everything he said turned out to be a lie. In a company memo, Armstrong at first said matching funds for 401k's would be stopped because Obamacare was tapping them out. When that turned out to be a lie, he then went on to say two unnamed women who gave birth to "problem" babies were to blame and millions were given for their care. Again, bullshit as companies have insurances policies for just this and, under Obamacare, life time limits are abolished so these kinds of payouts would not be a problem anymore. Armstrong finally relented and reversed course after employees demanded he reinstate them or else face their wrath, He wisely chose the right answer, but this shows that if you push your workers too hard, much like Muslim terrorists, they will fight back. So congratulations Tim Armstrong you are indeed douchebag of the week.
